The PSC Falcon 5500 RFID terminal is a hybrid RFID/Bar Code scanning solution. The 5500 supports multiple Ultra-high Frequency (UHF) RFID EPC-compliant protocols. This terminal is ideally suited for retail environments, exception handling and RFID prototyping. The 5500 supports both RFID scanning and bar code scanning in a single package, allowing for processing of systems that use both technologies (such as in environments where an RFID mandate requires RFID only for certain customers).

The PSC Falcon 5500 supports Cisco 802.11b wireless for mobile data collection. It has an Intel® XScale™ PXA255 400 MHz processor, Windows® CE.NET, 64MB RAM and 64MB of Flash.
